What is ozone?

Ozone is a natural gas that we breathe daily. It is created when oxygen (O2) molecules are split into two separate atoms by ultra violet radiation from the sun, lightning, and electric arc. The freed atoms recombine in 3-atom groups to form cousins of oxygen: ozone (O3). The word ozone comes from the Greek word ozein meaning smell, because of its distinctive sun-ray lamp smell. Ozone is natures way of cleaning pollution from our atmosphere.

Ozonegenerator.co.za currently has 4 pool units to cater for different pool sizes. All units use a combination of high purity ceramic components matched with a high grade of stainless steel for the corona generation which ensures high performance for many years. Ambient air is sucked through the unit producing Ozone that is induced into the pool by means of a venturi installed on the pools return pipe from the pool filter to the pool. The electronics together with corona generator are installed in a high grade housing together with a cooling fan and neon lamp.

O3P001 (1g/h - Spa Baths and pools up to 10 000 Litres)

O3P002 (3g/h - Pools up to 30 000 Litres)

O3P003 (5g/h - Pools up to 50 000 Litres)

O3P004 (8g/h - Pools up to 80 000 Litres)

Specialised units for pools bigger than 80 000 Litres are available upon request.

Ozone on Pools

Swimming pool ozone machine generators are designed to produce ozone at adequate levels of ozone to keep your pool bacteria and virus free. In most instances, no additional sanitizer is required. Pools however differ in sizes, type and location. As a result, the ozone demand may be different for different pools and variants of the standard protocol may have to be applied. It is widely accepted that ozone is one of the most potent sanitizers. Ozone can be an extremely effective method of maintaining your pool provided certain care is taken.
